Hello, leave your comments about NexPod here. I have already tested them, and to me they are good indeed!

I do not see them on e-bay yet

26.06.09 - admin

They are on e-bay, you just have to set the search options on “worldwide” and insert the keyword NexPod or Nespresso!

Hi,
We’ve had a Nespresso machine for over 10 years. I’ve just ordered these to try them out. Nespresso coffee is brilliant, in fact perfect every time, but I’m willing to try this product to give us the option of trying other espresso brands, especially organic and fair-trade. Will let you know.

03.08.09 - Kerry

These are great i’m very happy with them, just using the lavazza espresso for now, and ordering espresso ground organic stuff from my usual supplier. NB getting the correct grind is essential. My cheap grinder just won’t cut it. Thank you!

i have mine on order
i live in NJ, USA

i will post my opinions once i receive and try

i just hope that the nexpod, does not “cool” my espresso

I love this idea and I love my nespresso latte every morning but I am not so sure this replacement is really cost effective, unless you can reuse the capsule at least twice. For the $28 cost for 80 empty capsules including s&h to US (if you buy here on this website internationally, I have not found any on ebay yet), you get an empty capsule for about 35 cents, plus based on cost of good coffee in US, which is about $9.99 for a pound (1/2kg) a 5g fill (1 teaspoon) comes to about 10 cents so the total cost is 45 cents vs. 55 cents/capsule for the cheaper variety at Nespresso. So counting in the labor, I think I am going to stick with the originals for now. Let me know if the price goes down though or if you know of really good coffee here in US that is cheaper, I am a huge fan of recycling!

they are on ebay, you have to search for nexpod on the global site though:

if teh empty pods were more like 20-25 cents it would be much more ATTRACTIVE….

we’ll see how good these things are once i receive…..what’s taking so long? :-)

so i finally got my pods.
i tried 2 different espresso brands, Segafredo (italian) and Torrie (portuguese)
the espresso came in “brick” form (bag) already grounded fine for espresso.
why is it that there is not so much crema with nexpod as original nespresso pods?
and the amount of espresso that fills my cup is about half of what the original capsules produce?
it just seems like i’m getting a very small shot of strong black coffee with these nexpods…..???

can any experts here explain why or help me?

The ground grade is decisive for the quantity fo coffee that comes out of the machine and also for the crema. We discovered that the packaged coffee sometimes has a too fine ground grade, which gives a strong coffee but a slow flow out of the machine. For the crema we also suspect that Nespresso adds some foam building substances to the original capsules. If you look at our FAQ I wrote how exactly should the coffee be ground in order to obtain the best results. If the coffee is grounded at the right grade you can really press it hard in the capsule and the espresso will come out perfectly, with the right crema like from the original capsules

el exito asegurado es cuando se pueda reutilizar dos o tres veces la misma capsula.

I really like my NexPod capsules. But I can only make about 20ml coffee for a espresso, but not enough for my cup. After 20ml, the coffee’s very bitter, so I bought a espresso-Cup. Do you know how can I make more coffee?

I also like the possibility making tea, the best one is Darjeeling for me

29.09.09 - rick

great thing , now i can use the coffee i like … the only thing with nexpod it seems to take alot more pressure to close the nexpod in the machine

05.10.09 - Lisi

I think that there is no other coffee brand which can arrive the high quallity of Nespresso… if i buy a package of coffee it will lose many of its flavours after a few days, isn’t it?’… whatever, I will try it, maybe you can change my mind but I dont think so ;-)

08.10.09 - Raul

I just made an order and ask for extra filters and you answered me that I can also buy a packet of 100 extra filters for 2 CHF.
But , How do I order that? It isn´t on the Web to buy. Is t?

Many thanks in advance.

Waiting for mine to arrive. Can’t wait to try illy on my nespresso machine. Any recommendation on the grind and blend from illy anyone?

20.10.09 - TonyO

Love the idea was thinking of doing something like this myself but when you take into account the price, don’t think they are worth it. Would definitely buy them if they were cheaper

20.10.09 - NexPod

Hello Tony0, tanks for your comment: For the price you could try to consider that you can use each NexPod capsule 2 or 3 times. Using each time a new filter. So the price is very competitive we think. Less than 15 cent per Espresso. Best regards, Nexpod.

As an update, I now use each nexpod a few times each. I have a Siemens TK50. I don’t use the filters at all, and get a really good crema. What I do is, after making a shot, I use a pistol grip sprayer (like a water pistol) to blast with water any small particles out of the machine. Those small particles were causing me problems by slowing down dispensing when I didn’t use the filter. But I found that using the filters meant I don’t get such a good crema (also it’s quicker to not use a filter) Now I’ve worked out this system it’s amazingly quick and reliable to use my nespresso machine to make cappuccino every morning.

I tried Nexpod. I’m very satisfied: excellent taste and cream. I also got a good tea with the capsules

Your product would be really performant with a reusig capability. So I suggest you the research about an metal capsule to be reinserted
many times in the coffee machine .What do you think about that?

26.04.10 - Tony

At first I felt that Nexpods were a little too expensive. However, I now routinely rinse and reuse the pods quite a few times. This means the price per cup is very reasonable.

However, I find that the nexpods do not fit neatly into my model of machine. If I’m not careful the pod will drop right through into the reject hopper.

I also find that the used capsules not not eject from the nespresso machine neatly. To removed them I must use my fingernail to lever the used pod out of position. I presume that this very slight problem is caused by the plastic that nexpods are made from- after being subjected to pressure and hot water pumped through them they swell a little, thus lodging a little too firmly in the capsule chamber.

Still a good product that I have just reordered!

18.05.10 - Agnethe

I can use the plastic capsules 3 to 5 times so the box is going to last me a looong time.
I second the metal capsule suggestion! That would be great, though I can see that it poses some technical/safety issues.
